Featuring indigenous ingredients from the southern coast of India such as red chilies, tamarind, and black pepper, this class will introduce you to fiery comfort food from the regions of Goa and Karnataka.
Born and raised in India, Esha Bhandarkar will share family recipes for easy south Indian dishes that will spice up your weeknight. Learn about techniques to cook a spicy goan prawn curry made with fresh coconut, red chilies and spices, that will be paired with a sweet and savory coconut and cashew tempered rice. Cool off your tastebuds with a refreshing tomato and onion raita topped with crispy curry leaves, and find out how to make coconut burfi, a quick, delectable dessert flavored with rose water and cardamom in less than 20 minutes. This class will introduce you to a new, distinctive side of Southern Indian cuisine, one that you may not have experienced before.
Class is limited to 11 students and is hands-on. Includes dinner.
