Cooking Class: Cocktail Making 101
Students are required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination + valid ID at the start of class (please plan to arrive early accordingly). Failure to do so will result in a cancellation of ticket, and a refund or store credit will not be issued. Examples of valid proof of COVID-19 vaccinations are: vaccination record card, digital or physical WA state certificate of vaccination from MyIRmobile.com, or a verified electronic medical record printout from a medical provider. For more examples, please reference this visual guide.
Students will also be required to wear masks during the non-eating portions of class.
What better way to head into the holiday and winter season than with a bit of cocktail know-how up your sleeve? Join Seattle bartender Suli Suliman—founder of cocktail kit pop-up Aswad and owner of new upcoming bar Cafe Suliman—for this 101 class where you’ll learn all the basics of craft cocktail-making. Students will learn everything from how to stir, shake, and strain; how to properly build a cocktail and taste for balance; what tools every home bar needs; and how to make and adapt cocktail ingredients like syrups and infusions from your very own kitchen. Come prepared to get into the thick of it!
Menu includes: Brownsteine (bourbon, urfa bibir-infused cynar, sweet vermouth, cardamom and aromatic bitters); Cosmopolitan (vodka, lime, sugar, cranberry liqueur); Martini de la Frontera (gin, valdespino fino sherry, black lemon bitters); Angostura Daiquiri (amaro di angostura, lime, sugar); Lambrusco spritz (lambrusco, soda, rinomato deciso).
Class is limited to 12 students, and is hands-on. Includes tastes of each cocktail, along with plenty of snacks for students to nibble on throughout class. Please note that class reservations are non-refundable.
