Cheese Plate Shopping List
Find the cheese and pairings locally at DeLaurenti’s, Whole Foods, or Metropolitan Market. If you can’t find these exact cheeses, ask the cheesemonger for recommendations. Erika recommends purchasing about 3oz of each cheese.
- Humboldt Fog from Cypress Grove or Mt Tam from Cowgirl Creamery or Delice de Bourgogne
- L'Amuse Gouda or Mimolette or Beemster Aged Gouda
- Smokey Blue from Rogue Creamery OR Glacier Blue from Cascadia Creamery OR Bay Blue from Point Reyes
- Fig Jam
- Apple Slices
- Spiced Pecans
- Dark Chocolate (optional)
- Baguette or plain crackers
- 3 cheese or steak knives
- 1 teaspoon for the jam
- 1 platter, cutting board, or large plate for serving your cheese.
How to prepare:
Set cheese out 30 minutes before the class starts
Slice your baguette and your apple
Lay it all out on a plate or platter to enjoy during the class.

Erika Kubick is a Chicago native and the cheesemonger-turned-preacher behind CheeseSexDeath.com, a website devoted to educating, exciting, and empowering cheese sluts everywhere. Through sultry cheese porn and educational church services, Erika converts common cheese lovers into confident connoisseurs and worshippers of Cheesus. Cheese Sex Death: A Bible for the Cheese Obsessed is her début book.
Polina Chesnakova is a Seattle-based food writer, recipe developer, and cooking class instructor whose work has been featured in Culture, The Washington Post, Saveur, The Kitchn, and Seattle Magazine. She is currently the Culinary Director at Book Larder. Her first book, Hot Cheese, came out in September 2020. Her second book, Everyday Cake, is due to come out in April 2022.
