In Person Author Talk: Leslie Mackie, Macrina Bakery: Seasons
Location:
Event Date:
Jun 21, 2023
Event Time:
06:30 pm - 08:00 pm
We are delighted to welcome Leslie Mackie, founder of Seattle's beloved Macrina Bakery! Coinciding with its 30th anniversary, Macrina is set to open a new café in Maple Leaf this June. To mark the occasion, Leslie will host a baking demonstration and cookbook signing at Book Larder on Wednesday, June 21, at 6:30 P.M. Participants will learn how to create a Summer Berry Galette using a recipe from the Macrina's Seasons cookbook, enjoy samples, receive a recipe sheet, and have an opportunity to have their cookbooks signed by Leslie. Additionally, Macrina Bakery will offer a chance to win tickets to one of their upcoming baking classes.
Macrina Bakery’s Seasons pays tribute to local ingredients, with each recipe highlighting the unique flavors of the Pacific Northwest's spring, summer, fall, and winter. Leslie crafted these recipes with the home cook in mind, utilizing readily available ingredients for most dishes. For less common items, she includes alternative suggestions. Apart from a few recipes, most can be prepared in under an hour, allowing hosts to spend quality time with their guests while enjoying a taste of the good life.
You'll have two options for joining us: Book Included, or Author Talk Only. Leslie will sign your books after the talk.
Because Book Larder is a small space and we keep the door closed during author talks, a well-fitted face mask is strongly encouraged to be worn by all event guests. Thank you!
Reservations are non-refundable, and can include a signed copy of the $35 book. Can't attend but still want a signed copy? Order here for shipping or in-store pickup.
